Larry Hund, President and Chief Operating Officer, Harley-Davidson Financial, was installed as the new chair of the American Financial Services Association (AFSA) Vehicle Finance Division Board at the conclusion of the division’s 2018 Vehicle Finance Conference & Expo in Las Vegas. This position is a one-year term.
Hund succeeds Vince Rice, Chief Operations Officer, Hyundai Capital America, who has served in the position since February 2017. In this role, Hund will oversee the division’s initiatives and lead the division’s more than 800 members from captive vehicle finance companies; auto finance subsidiaries of banks; independent auto finance companies and dealer finance companies – retail and wholesale.
Hund is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Harley-Davidson Financial Services (HDFS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Harley-Davidson, Inc.
A 30-year financial services veteran, Hund held a wide range of executive roles throughout his career. Upon joining HDFS in 2002, Hund served as Vice President of Operations and Chief Financial Officer and was also Interim Chief Operating Officer from July 2006 to January 2007. Hund left HDFS in 2007 to join a start-up finance company and rejoined HDFS in June 2009. Earlier, he spent 17 years at Heller Financial, Inc., and in the six years prior to Heller’s purchase by GE Capital served as Executive Vice President and Controller.
He also serves as a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the American Financial Services Association (AFSA).
Tim Russi, President, Auto Finance, Ally Financial, was named Vice Chairman of the Vehicle Finance Division Board. Russi is responsible for developing the strategy and driving the performance of the auto business. Prior to this role, he was Executive Vice President of North American Operations – Auto (NAO) for U.S. and Canada and Chief Financial Officer for Ally’s Global Automotive Services and chief Operating Officer for NAO. Prior to joining Ally in October 2008, Russi worked for Cerberus Operations and Advisory Company as a senior advisor to Ally.
He assumed this role in 2008 after serving as the President of Dealer Financial Services for Bank of America. Russi also serves on AFSA’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
