AFSA SGA Publishes Government Shutdown Whitepaper
AFSA's April State Government Affairs white paper is now available. This month's white paper covers the state response to the recent federal government shutdown. While the federal government was partially shutdown for a record 35 days, several states pushed for legislation to temporarily put hold on certain credit obligations to provide relief for affected federal employees. The white paper takes an in-depth look at this legislation, as well as other similar efforts, including stays of foreclosure and state loan programs. The paper is also available under the State Resources section of AFSA’s website.
