As 2018 continues to tick down toward the new year, we edge closer to the premier event for the vehicle financing community. The 2019 AFSA Vehicle Finance Conference & Expo will be held from January 22-24, 2019 at the Hilton Union Square in San Francisco, Calif.

AFSA this week submitted a letter of welcome to incoming Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection (BCFP) Director Kathy Kraninger. The letter shared the history of AFSA and the important role that its members play in the lives of ordinary Americans.

AFSA would like to welcome the following new members to the association:

Kraninger was serving as an associate director in the Office of Management and Budget. Under the Dodd-Frank Act, she can serve as the BCFP director for a five-year term. The Dodd-Frank Act specifies that the BCFP’s director is only removable by the president “for cause,” although this provision has been subject to various court challenges.
