AFSA Meets with FCC Commissioner to discuss TCPA
This month, AFSA joined with other trades and member companies in meetings at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The associations and members met with FCC Commissioner Michael O’Rielly, as well as advisors to Chairman Ajit Pai and Commissioner Brendan Carr.
They emphasized the continuing negative impact of some of the FCC’s Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) decisions. The associations explained that many of the TCPA interpretations impair the ability of the association’s members to send time-critical, non-telemarketing communications to millions of customers. They urged the FCC to act expeditiously to ensure that its implementation of the TCPA is consistent with the text of the statute and Congressional intent.
