What has been the most important lesson?
Say yes to opportunities that make you uncomfortable as often as possible, especially when you don’t think you are ready. You will never check every box; if you wait until you do, the opportunity will no longer have enough room for failure and growth.
Was there a mentor who provided great insight in your early career?
When I first started at Prestige, I joined a team led by an amazing woman named Jordan Robles. She believed in me from the beginning and helped push me to see my potential. She encouraged me to apply for opportunities and helped me learn from the disappointment of not getting those first several promotions. I am grateful that I have had the opportunity to work with her for nearly 15 years. – Jordan currently oversees Prestige’s military, open13 loss mitigation, and specialized collections portfolios.
What do you wish the you of today could have told the younger you about building a career?
Success is not linear, nor is it a solo activity. You will never be good at everything, so be realistic about your strengths and bring people up with you who have talents you don’t have. Network, network, network! You will need them, and they will need you. Cultivate and nurture your network.
