Women’s History Month | Darcy Locke
AFSA is collaborating with the AFSA’s Women’s Leadership Council to celebrate Women’s History Month by featuring outstanding female leaders in the consumer credit industry.

What has been the most important lesson?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that confidence isn’t something you wait for…it’s something you build by showing up, learning, and staying in the work, even when it feels uncomfortable.
Was there a mentor who provided great insight in your early career?
Early in my career, mentors invested in me through honest feedback, encouragement, and perspective. Their generosity, especially with their time and their words, shaped how I approach leadership today.
What do you wish the you of today could have told the younger you about building a career?
If I could tell my younger self anything, it would be this: take a seat at the table, you belong there. And don’t dial yourself down. Embrace your femininity as one of your strengths, not something to work around.
