AFSA Continues to Support Remote Online Notarization
This week, Senators Kevin Cramer (R-ND) and Mark Warner (D-VA) introduced the Securing and Enabling Commerce Using Remote and Electronic (SECURE) Notarization Act. The bipartisan would expand the usage of Remote Online Notarizations (RONs), enabling businesses and consumers to execute critical documents using two-way audiovisual communication in different physical locations.
AFSA joined other financial services trade associations and organizations to express strong support of the SECURE Notarization Act and the immediate nationwide use of RON technology. Additionally, several AFSA’s state organizations joined signed on to a coalition letter supporting the SECURE Notarization Act. AFSA supported nearly identical legislation last Congress introduced by Senators Cramer and Warner.
The House is expected to introduce companion legislation later this year.
