LISTEN | CFPB’s Mark McArdle on Mortgage Resources
In this episode of the AFSA Extra Credit Podcast, we speak with Mark McArdle, Assistant Director, Mortgage Markets with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Mark handles several different areas within the mortgage markets team at the Bureau, including facilitating the Bureau’s assumption of the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) reporting, developing options around the Ability to Repay/Qualified Mortgage rules, and playing a key role developing the Bureau’s No Action Letter for HUD to facilitate lender-funded housing counseling.
Mark also coordinates the Bureau’s regulatory response to COVID-19, and is joining us on the podcast to spread the word about the Bureau’s mortgage resources for consumers. AFSA is encouraging its members to share these crucial resources with consumers at such an unprecedented time.
