New 50-State Survey Covers State Agency Regs
AFSA’s State Government Affairs (SGA) team recently published a new vehicle-finance related 50-state survey. The survey details which state agency has regulatory authority over dealers. The credit regulators in four states – New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Texas – have licensing and regulatory authority over dealers. In 14 states the credit regulator has some enforcement powers over dealers, but primary regulatory authority is with another agency. In other states, licensure and regulatory authority is held by another regulatory agency such as the Department of Transportation or Secretary of State.
This survey can be found with AFSA’s other state surveys and charts in the state resources page on AFSA’s website.
