Recapping Financial Literacy Month
As Financial Literacy Month wraps, the AFSA Education Foundation staff wants to thank the AFSA team and Member Companies across the country for their support of MoneySKILL through volunteerism efforts, financial donations, and the many other ways individuals and companies support the foundation.
Some of the earned media and collaborative efforts this month include:
- AFSA President & CEO Celia Winslow and AFSA Education Foundation (AFSAEF) Executive Director Rhonda Ashburn were guests on Inspired Money hosted by Andrew Wang, recognized as one of the Forbes Top 10 Personal Finance Podcasts by Financial Advisors. You can access the podcast via this link.
- AFSAEF Director of Financial Education and Outreach Olivia DiBiase exhibited on MoneySKILL at the Coalition on Adult Basic Education conference, the world’s largest gathering of adult educators. In addition, Olivia is serving as president of the Greater Washington Jump$tart Coalition, which hosted an event for educators in the DC area.
- A new toolkit for Alabama educators was introduced, with a personal finance standard cross walk to all 37 MoneySKILL modules.
- AFSAEF remains engaged as a Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy Sustaining Partner and was involved in the partner gathering and awards luncheon this month. Jump$tart also recognized AFSA and the Education Foundation’s collaborative efforts in two of their “Financial Fridays” editions with an outreach to 32,000 individuals.
AFSA members can access additional information and an ambassador toolkit here.
