AFSAEF Empowers with MoneySKILL®
This week the AFSA Education Foundation had the privilege of connecting with financial literacy advocates and educators at two events. These gatherings provided meaningful opportunities for the foundation to showcase its free resources, including the MoneySKILL curriculum, and to network with leaders from both the education and public-service sectors.
At the National Association of State Treasurers (NAST) Treasury Management Training Symposium in Baltimore, Executive Director Rhonda Ashburn participated in a panel session titled “Supporting Educators: Financial Education Resources and Best Practices” moderated by Bill Parker, Director of the Tennessee Financial Literacy Commission. Rhonda shared insights for the growing demand for quality personal finance education and highlighted free, practical tools that state treasury departments can use to support financial literacy efforts.
Additionally, the AFSA Education Foundation presented and exhibited at the Tennessee Jump$tart Personal Finance Educators’ Conference in Chattanooga. Neysa Laux, an ambassador for the AFSA Education Foundation, introduced teachers to MoneySKILL. Her session provided an engaging overview of the MoneySKILL platform and best practices for utilizing the material in a variety of classroom environments.
The AFSA Education Foundation’s participation in both events reflects its ongoing commitment to equipping educators and state leaders with the tools and support they need to deliver meaningful and accessible financial education.
