What do you wish you of today could have told the younger you about building a career?
I wish I could tell my younger self to focus more on building relationships and understanding how leaders make hard decisions. Early on in our careers we tend to focus on building skills and acquiring subject-matter knowledge, which are necessary for growth. The tools we need to be an effective leader are quite different – relational intelligence, situational awareness, and smart trade-off assessment have been three fruitful areas of focus for me at this stage of my career.
