Debt Collection Focus of March White Paper
AFSA’s State Government Affairs team published it’s March white paper focusing on debt collection. With debt collection top of mind for millions of Americans, states and consumer activists are increasingly prioritizing the issue. The white paper provides an overview of recent debt collection legislation and legislative trends and examines regulatory developments in states like New York and California. The white paper also takes a deep dive into growing debt collection areas such as call restrictions, debt validation requirements, and debt buyer regulations.
