AFSA Supports Fair Hiring
Today, AFSA submitted a letter expressing its strong support for S. 5025, the Fair Hiring in Banking Act. The legislation would remove the prohibition of Americans with minor arrest or conviction records from working in the banking industry.
In May, AFSA submitted a letter supporting the House version of the bill (H.R. 5911).
The act’s passage would enable the financial services industry to expand the candidate pools for qualified employees at a time when the industry is facing a labor shortage. More importantly the act would help increase economic opportunities for individuals rehabilitated in the American justice system.
