AFSA Congratulates Biden-Harris
Multiple media outlets have declared Joseph R. Biden, Jr., the winner in the 2020 presidential race. American Financial Services Association President and CEO Bill Himpler issued the following statement:
“The American Financial Services Association congratulates President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on being declared winners of the 2020 presidential election, and we look forward to working with them, their administration and the new Congress to both maintain and expand America’s ongoing economic recovery and to help address our nation’s most pressing challenges.
“For over a century AFSA members and the broader consumer credit industry have proudly stood with and supported the agendas of presidents and their administrations in times of great challenge and change. Our industry annually contributes well over $1 trillion in economic activity, and over the past ten months America’s consumer credit industry has been there for consumers when they may have most needed access to credit for their day to day lives.
“We look forward to standing with the incoming administration and are committed to working to sustain America’s recovery and to expand economic opportunity for all of our fellow citizens.”
