Scam Alert: Conference Lists & Accommodations
The American Financial Services Association has learned about two scams that people and/or companies are offering to AFSA members.
First, companies are emailing AFSA Members offering conference attendee lists, lodging reservations, and other services in connection with AFSA meetings. These offers do not come from AFSA and should be deleted. Attendee lists are free by request to all conference attendees.
Second, companies are offering discounted hotel accommodations for AFSA conferences; these, too, are fraudulent. In order to get the AFSA room rate at an AFSA conference, you must book on the hotel website or over the phone, directly with the hotel, using AFSA’s discount code.
Please carefully review the URL or email address of what appears to be an AFSA-related solicitation and disregard those that come from other sources. If you have questions, contact an AFSA staff person directly.
