Auto Finance chief executives set for AFSA conference

The chief executives of five auto finance lenders, representing captives and major banks, will participate in a panel discussion next week at AFSA’s annual Vehicle Finance Conference, capping off three days of deep dives and 30,000-foot overviews of what the auto finance industry faces today and in the near future.

Participants on the CEO panel include Chuck Jones, Head of National Indirect Lending at Sun Trust Banks; David McClelland, CEO of Ford Credit; Mark O’ Donovan, CEO of Chase Auto; Richard Porrello, President of Auto Finance & Dealer Services, Huntington National Bank; and Ian Smith, President of BMW Financial Services.

After providing overviews of their companies, the panelists will be discussing topics ranging from the digital transformation affecting the auto finance industry to the mobility revolution taking place as a result of changing customer tastes and demographics, and how those changes impact customers, manufacturers and lenders. The panel will be moderated by Charlie Volgelheim, creator and host of The Flying Car.

The two sessions preceding the CEO panel will start with a group of auto industry executives addressing the “Transformation of Transportation” and be followed by a conversation between Larry Hund, AFSA’s current Vehicle Finance Chair, and Charlie Gilchrist, the incoming NADA Chair and president of Gilchrist Automotive on topics relative to dealers and lenders.
