First Business Partner Webinar Focuses on CFPB Expectations
AFSA held its first Business Partner webinar yesterday entitled “What to Expect from the CFPB in 2017.”
Robert W. Cardwell and Allison Smith with eight star partner FIS presented in the inaugural session.
AFSA's Business Partner Webinar series allows industry experts to share timely, educational topics directly with AFSA members. Webinars are designed to provide information that will allow AFSA members to more effectively design, develop and implement strategies for their company's success.
Cardwell and Smith led attendees through a thorough review of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB) actions in 2016 and looked into key points of focus for 2017.
The overarching theme of the presentation was despite November’s election, companies need to remain vigilant, and more importantly, remain prepared from a compliance standpoint, regardless of business line. Cardwell and Smith both said that having a robust compliance regime in place is good practice and will have a positive impact on consumer spending and retention.
A recording of the webinar, as well as the slides, are available to AFSA members on the association’s website in the Webinar Resource Center. Upcoming webinars will feature content-rich presentations from business partners Clarity Services, FactorTrust, ACI Worldwide and more.
